In the men’s category, Rødby Beach Boys return to Porto Santo as last year’s champions and will try to add a second consecutive trophy to their collection. But first, the Danish side has to get past three fierce contenders in group A — the French from Occitanie Beach Team, Hiekka Hauskaa from Netherlands and Poland’s DAMY RADE Inowroclaw.
The Portuguese crowd has three participating teams they can cheer for: GRD Leça - SPAR in group B, Nazaré BHT in group C and the 2023 runners-up EFE Os Tigres, who will have to fight their way to the trophy in group D.
In total, 10 nations will be represented in the men’s category at the Beach Handball Champions Cup 2024, with the host country having the most clubs in the competition — three. Take a look below at the confirmed groups for the 16 teams in the men’s tournament.
Current titleholders in the women’s category, The Danish Beach Handball Dream, will start this year’s journey in group A, alongside AD IASPORTS from Portugal, Poland’s BHT Conkret Byczki Kowalewo Pomorskie and Hungarians from Red Velvet BHC.
Similar to the men’s competition, the host country is also represented in the women’s category by three teams — AD IASPORTS in group A, EFE Os Tigres starting in group B and GRD Leça Love Tiles featuring in group C. The 16 participants come from 11 different countries, with Germany, Denmark, Hungary and Portugal being the only ones with multiple entries.
