FTC and Krim remain unbeaten, Vipers celebrate first win
The EHF Champions League Women returned on Saturday after a one-week hiatus following the national team week.
Round 4 saw FTC-Rail Cargo Hungaria extending their winning streak to four, celebrating their best start to the top-flight competition since 2012/13, while Vipers Kristiansand celebrated their first win of the season as Silje Solberg stopped 21 of Odense's attempts.
Metz Handball celebrated a well-contested victory, but not without a fierce challenge from HC Podravka Vegeta, who once again displayed resilience and determination, refusing to back down. Krim Mercator Ljubljana remained unbeaten after securing a win in the last moments of the game, leaving Storhamar Handball Elite disappointed.
This was a very important win for us in Hungary, and also a test to see how we play against big teams. It’s a mystery what happened in the second half, but we are grateful for our fans, they pushed us all the way to the end.
It was a tough game, but we had great moments in the second half. Ferencváros is a more experienced team, and I think we can learn a lot from today’s match.
Congratulations to Storhamar for all their hard work, their great play today, and their results this season. I expected a tough game, and I’m happy that we stayed stable in difficult situations. We showed in the last 10 minutes that we outscored the opponent five to one.
We were fighting really hard. It was a tough game against Krim; we all knew that. We fought for 60 minutes, trying our best. It was a rollercoaster with us leading and then falling behind. In the end, we are disappointed. We didn’t manage to get any points, and that’s not what we wanted.
Maybe the most important thing is to win. We didn’t play as expected. The team is strong, we have really good players, and when we were ahead after 20 minutes, everything was fine. But a few minutes later, we were tied at halftime. We need to work on that. We’re happy because we won again. As I told my team, anyone can beat anyone in this group.
Congratulations to my team for fighting, and to the opponents for winning, they deserve it. I’m happy with most of the game because we fought hard. There were mistakes sometimes, and like the previous game, we missed a lot of chances. We have a lot of work to do.
