Five teams hope to extend winning streaks
The group stage of the EHF European League Women is going to reach its midway point this weekend and after two matches, five teams still boast a perfect record. Two of them, CS Gloria 2018 BN and Neptunes Nantes, will face off in Bistrita on Sunday, fighting for the top position in group C.
Storhamar Handball Elite in group A, Thüringer HC in group B and Motherson Mosonagyarovari KC in group D also hope to extend their winning streaks, while Nykøbing Falster Håndbold, who reached the final at the same competition last season, will be looking for their maiden points in the current group phase.
In our group, Storhamar is the strongest team. They are certainly favourites even though we play in Koprivnica. Our big motivation is the last game in which we beat one of the favourites in our group, Nykøbing, and recorded a victory after a long time in a European home match. Now we have faith that even against the better team we can make good result.
I expect a very hard game against Nykøbing, our first target is to correct the big mistakes that we made last week and we would like to show that we are a much better team than we were last Sunday in Norway.
This game will be very interesting to watch. Thüringer, like always, have a very strong team, but I also think that we are a better and more mature team than last year, so it is a good time for revenge. This match is very important for us and for our plans this season, so I hope that we will show our full potential, especially in front of our fierce supporters who always give us additional energy to fight.
HSG Bensheim/Auerbach are certainly a strong team, despite two defeats in the EHF European League. We also don't have any points, but we have played a solid competition so far. Of course, we still make mistakes, but these matches were relatively successful. We want to finally show that we can not only play well, but also score points.
It’s the hardest game in this group and we are looking forward to it! We are determined and ready to fight for a positive result. We have all the supporters there for us and I am sure that the atmosphere is going to be amazing.
A new home-game only one week after our last one suits us well. We are ready, and will do our best to get back on a winning-track. CSM Targu Jiu have had a difficult start to the group phase, but we know every team has to play their best to have the opportunity to get points.
The victory in Romania gave us so much confidence for our next challenges in this group phase. We will fight to offer our fans a great evening at home against a great team that will push us to give our best.
We prepare seriously for every match. Before an international match we see and analyze more videos about the other team. We prepare together and individually to beat the other team. This time the teamwork, struggle and heart will be the most important things, these will be the key against Malaga. I hope that we will play a good match and bring home the two points.
