Last eight teams join EHF EURO 2024 party
Friday’s action at the Men’s EHF EURO 2024 will feature the last two groups to throw off, with group B in Mannheim and group C in Munich offering plenty of tantalising match-ups.
We have our focus and that is Romania. If we want to make it good and leave our mark, we need to win that first game. We played against them two times in the qualifiers and won both, so I am afraid my players will have more of an easy approach to the game. However, I told them we are starting from zero and have to fight hard.
It will be a war. It will be a match in which every team wants to win. We know them well, we played against them and we lost both matches, but here it is different. We will do everything in our power to win and get the two points. It does not matter how, even if we win by a single goal, but we want to win.
They are a great team that plays a long, patient attack while having a good defence with an amazing goalkeeper. We should not put too much pressure on ourselves, we see that can be bad sometimes. We are ready and can't wait for it to start.
We just arrived yesterday and it’s a good feeling in the team. We’ve come for the first time into the arena and we’re just focused and concentrated on Serbia obviously. No injuries, no excuses.
It’s a really difficult match for us. We play against a team that is so hard, that runs a lot, defends hard, has really good players, a good coach. It will be so difficult for us, but I think for other teams it’s the same. We will do our best and try to win this match.
The first game will be really, really tough, because Hungary is one great team. Hungary gives a lot of money for handball and they always, every year, are trying to reach the maximum. But I still see they have good times and bad times, so they are not always on the best way.
