Ewan Hunter was passionately dedicated to developing and growing handball, particularly at the grassroots level in Scotland, since he first started working for the Association in 2019. Since then, the Association was one of the first to sign the EHF Master Plan agreement in 2022 and the Christensen Grassroots Charter in 2025.
During his tenure as the Scottish Handball Association CEO, he was elected to the European Handball League Board in June 2025, through which he worked on integrating emerging nations into the European competitions' structure.
Ewan Hunter’s love and dedication to handball will be greatly missed. The thoughts of everyone at the European Handball Federation are with his family and friends at this difficult time.
