The EHF Court of Handball has reached its decision in a case opened against HC Zagreb’s player Jovica Nikolic.

During the EHF Champions League Men 2026/27 match against Aalborg Håndbold, which took place on 14 October 2026, Jovica Nikolic was directly disqualified at minute 45:25 of the match.

After a careful evaluation of the incident, the EHF Court of Handball found that the action was particularly severe and extremely dangerous.

Due to the serious unsportsmanlike conduct the EHF Court of Handball decided that Jovica Nikolic is suspended from the participation in EHF club competitions for two matches.

The player is therefore not entitled to participate in the next matches of the EHF Champions League Men 2026/27, to be played on 21 October 2026 against Paris Saint-Germain and on 28 October against RK Celje Pivovarna Laško.

An appeal may be filed with the EHF Court of Appeal within seven days.
