FTC-Rail Cargo Hungaria came back from a three-goal deficit against Metz Handball to save a 31:31 draw in the first leg of the quarter-finals of the EHF Champions League Women 2025/26. It was their first draw at Erd Arena and the third overall in the history between the two sides, with goalkeepers playing a crucial role — Blanka Böde-Bíró and Johanna Bundsen both stepped up in a top-notch battle that went down to the wire.

I’m not satisfied with the draw, but I don’t think either team can be. We can congratulate both teams, and women’s handball as well, because it was a fantastic match. We feel that today could have been better, but it could have been worse, too. We have six days to find one or two more goals here and there.

Both teams fought during the game. We know that it's hard to play here in Erd against FTC. We know as well it’s pretty tough to get into the FINAL4. We know what to work on for next weekend.
