In their first ever official win over Denmark, Lazarov starts his career as player/coach in the best way possible by beating the current World Champions. And with that bringing a 13-match winning streak to an end.
A massive performance by goalkeeper Mitrevski (13 saves) has to be mentioned, he popped up at key moments to save North Macedonia, plus he had certain players in his pocket (Holm springs to mind) which really helped in turning the tide and keeping control of the game.
A fresh start for Macedonian handball it seems; it's very exciting!
Denmark will need to dust off these cobwebs for Sunday's return match against Lazarov & Co.

It was always gonna be an uphill battle for Finland today with the news earlier in the week that they would be missing four of their best players Nico Rönnberg, Oscar Kihlstedt, Miro Koljonen and Mikael Mäkelä, it was too big of an uphill battle.
The Swiss took full control of the game and never looked back. Milosevic (10/11) on the line was rock solid and for sure player of the match, while Schmid and Raemy netted five each from the back court.
The win here means it's the Swiss' first points of the campaign, congrats!

Lindgren seems to be repeating himself a lot in time-outs, lack of a drive in one vs one situations and poor shots. Not the best day at the office for the hosts.

A clear difference in class here. The Finnish hosts are fighting for every ball but look a bit lost in the set attacks often relying on a moment of individual play or a lapse in concentration from the Swiss defence. Helander for Finland looked very bright in the first 10 minutes scoring 3/3, but since then the hosts have had nobody really to turn to for some goals.
Andy Schmid - while dictating the play and making Milosevic look like a star - could improve his shooting having netted only three from seven - one miss being a totally unnecessary foul penalty shot.
Very difficult to see any ways back for Finland but let's see if Lindgren has an ace up his sleeve.

When Bosnia and Herzegovina take the court for their EHF EURO 2022 qualifiers clash against Austria on Sunday, they will do so under the guidance of new coach Ivica Obrvan.
Obrvan had retired in 2018 but took the job with Bosnia and Herzegovina in February this year, then was appointed head coach of EHF Champions League side HC PPD Zagreb.

Spain celebrate their first win in the EHF EURO Cup 2022 as they defeat Slovakia. The two points from the victory mean Spain move into second on the table, ahead of Hungary (also two points) and below leaders Croatia on four points.

So, it is first off to Minsk, where Belarus host Italy in group 6.
Belarus upset Norway 33:25 in early January, though in fairness it needs to be mentioned that the Scandinavians were in the middle of their World Championship preparations and left many key players at home. Still a good win for Belarus, but they lost the reverse fixture 27:19.
Italy also had mixed fortunes so far, with a clear defeat against Norway (39:24) before getting a win and a loss in the double-header against Latvia.

Slovenia now sit on five points on top of the group, while Poland are one point behind in second.
Poland's four points were collected against Turkey in the earlier qualifier matches. Slovenia entered today's match on three points following a big win and a draw versus the Netherlands to open their campaign.
The Netherlands also earned one win, against Turkey, meaning they are on three points — and that it is a tight race at the top of the table, with just one point separating each position.

EHF journalist Björn Pazen reminds us of some interesting history between Sweden and Montenegro: in 2012, Montenegro were the side to knock Sweden out of the World Championship qualification, with an aggregate win of just one goal in the two-leg play-off.
It was a painful defeat for Sweden, who had placed fourth at the previous World Championship, in 2011, and went on to take a medal at the Olympic Games less than two months after the World Championship play-offs.

Sweden's opponents tonight, Montenegro, also started their qualifiers campaign with a clear win over Kosovo (32:25). However, they suffered a tough defeat in their next match, going down by nine against Romania (36:27).
Those results indicate that Montenegro's fate in this group comes down to the battle with Romania for second place. Anything they can get tonight from Sweden will be just as must a surprise as a welcome bonus.
And while they have beaten Sweden only twice in nine previous encounters, thry did so in their most recent match, in 2017.
